Republic Day Celebrations | AP government announced 13 new districts

The state government announced the formation of 13 districts in the Republic Day celebrations on 26 January. The new districts will come into effect from the Telugu New Year Ugadi. Secondly, in a clear way, the government has indicated that there is no scope for upward revision of fitment. Surprisingly, there was no mention of the issue of three capitals in the Governor’s speech at the Republic Day celebrations. Nor was there any mention of abolishing the Legislative Council.

The government also decided to remove the word “PM Kisan” from the Rythu Bharosa financial aid. The central government has clearly stated that being a central government scheme, ‘PM Kisan’ cannot be linked with state government schemes.

Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan unfurled the tricolor flag in the IGMC stadium complex. The governor said that in order to fulfill the promises made by the YSRCP party in its election manifesto, for good governance and efficient delivery of services, the state has an additional 13 districts from the auspicious day of Ugadi.

Two districts will be exclusively for the tribal population. He said that the total number of districts in the state would go up to 26.

The government has claimed that 23% fitment will be given to the employees who give notice of the strike.

Referring to the welfare of the employees, the Governor said that the government has given the best possible Pay Revision Commission (PRC) in the current circumstances.

“Let nothing come between the government and its employees. Together we should work towards serving the people of this state.”

The Governor said that in a first of its kind initiative in the country, the government is providing YSR Rythu Bharosa assistance of ₹ 13,500 per year in three installments to each farmer. He said that till January 26, a total of ₹19,126 crore has been distributed as Rythu Bharosa assistance.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
