A video of a dead fish suddenly coming alive on Tiktok has gone viral.

If you’re a fan of the horror genre, you definitely grew up on a staple diet of zombie flicks and the thought of them probably sends a chill down your spine. What if you find video evidence of their existence and that too of a zombie fish? A video of a dead fish suddenly coming alive on TikTok has gone viral and the internet has dubbed it a ‘zombie fish’. According to a report in Ladd Bible, a Mr. Wen was in one of the harshest shocks of his life in Zhengzhou, China, when the fish he had just begun to fry started shaking and running around in the pan. The incident left Mr. Wayne speechless and he said he had never seen anything like it before. He waited for the fish to become completely motionless before serving the fish to his wife.

The Tiktok video shocked the viewers as most could not logically explain the sudden survival of the fish. Some tried to give their best shot at trying to rationalize what had happened. One user said that even after dying, the fish did not remove its spine and thus the nerves became alive due to the heat.

Another reminisced about an incident where he saw the tentacles of an octopus start shaking while it was being cooked in a seafood restaurant, despite being cut into pieces by the chef.

One user joked, “It’s better to buy this kind of fish because it means it’s fresh.”

Before you get completely scared of this phenomenon, here’s a possible logical explanation. After a similar incident in 2018, a chemistry teacher told Discovery News that most of the tissue is still alive. “The cell metabolites are almost intact, the membrane voltages or potentials present in nerve cells are probably still intact,” he said.

Hopefully, this explanation will help you sleep better at night.
