Tinselwood gets 10th birthday card from Rani. Ever since he turned 100 in 2012, he has been receiving birthday cards from the Queen every year.

Traditionally, the Queen sends wishes and messages to those celebrating her 100th and 105th birthdays and every year thereafter. Congratulatory messages are also sent to those celebrating 60th, 65th and 70th wedding anniversaries. “Each year, thousands of birthday and anniversary cards are sent from the Queen to those celebrating important birthdays and anniversaries,” the Royal website reads.

Born in 1912, Shatabdi doesn’t seem old. “I live with my friends”, he says.

He has gone through two world wars, the Spanish flu and the COVID pandemic.

This positive side of his nature can be attributed to his healthy and long life right now.

In an interview, he has revealed that walking is his favorite activity. He still tries to walk, although his mobility is somewhat challenged.

“Swinging your legs is good exercise. Every day, swing the left leg and the right,” he says.

Walking is considered one of the most effective and low-impact workouts. It works on multiple muscles at the same time.

He revealed that among the many things that have helped him reach this far, the most effective is to do things in moderation. They say that eating in moderation, drinking in moderation can help the body stay healthy. Tinniswood’s care home manager, Katie Howard is all praises about Tiniswood. Describing him as a wonderful man with many stories, he told the BBC that he was a true gentleman.

Tiniswood was born in Liverpool.

“He enjoys reading the paper and listening to music,” says Katie.
