Ambience

Stylishly seated at the Taj Mahal Hotel, the restaurant offers a warm and welcoming ambiance that makes you want to visit the place more than once. Simple yet chic seating with an ambiance reminiscent of the famous Ming Dynasty and Princess Ming, the moment you enter the restaurant it feels like you are in a stunning ancient Chinese palace.

Food & Beverage

The menu at House of Ming offers a wide range of Asian dishes. Our first picks from the menu were the Hot & Sour and Mancho Soups, filled with carefully chopped seasonal vegetables. It made for a soothing appetizer. The soup was followed by scallop golden garlic and prawn har gao from the dim sum section. The Scallop Golden Garlic was stuffed with minced scallops, water chestnut and golden garlic, while the Prawn Har Gao was wrapped in a traditional starch wrapper, gold leaf, and came with a ginger sauce. Both were full of dim sum flavor and piqued our fascination with dim sums, so we decided to try something else but this time from the vegetarian section. We tried the Edamame Smoked Chili Dim Sum and the Mushroom, Cheese, Truffle Oil Dim Dum. Edamame Smoked Chili is bound to remind you of your choice of chaat; Only it is sugar and healthy. Another starter was Steamed Asparagus, Chili Mustard and Tau Soo; A dish that gave asparagus a twist we usually love – it was definitely the highlight of the starter menu.

For mains, we had prawn fried rice and hand cut chicken noodles with sesame minced chicken, fresh red pepper and Sichuan eggplant. Both the main dishes are quite popular in Asian cuisine and need no introduction. And since we wanted to take it easy, both main course dishes fit the bill – comforting and power-packed with flavor.

For desserts, you can definitely enjoy wild rice pudding. The sticky sweet treat will leave a delicious taste of your nutritious Asian meal. We recommend that you try the Citron – a Lime Crmeux Orange Center and Cheese Mille-Feuil!

So, I’ll write this by saying that the House of Ming dude is a great reason to get out of the weekdays or lazy weekends – come here for dinner and you’ll be in line at eleven the next morning.
