Kerala have 15 points from six matches and are joined by league leaders Bengaluru FC (18 points from six matches) as the top two teams to book tickets for the Next Gen Cup to be held in the United Kingdom.

Goals from Mohammad Basith (42nd), Nihal Sudish (47th), Vincy Barreto (76th) and substitute Srikuttan (90+5) scored in the yellow for the boys. The RF Young Champs made a good account of themselves finishing fifth with seven points from six matches. They will take on Goa in their final engagement on May 11, while Kerala and Bengaluru will clash on May 12 in the virtual title decider.

The Santosh Trophy winner, along with Kerala and RF Young Champs graduate Basith, opened the scoring, searching the back of the net from a tight angle after being set up by Givson Singh inside the box.

Kerala switched gears after the break, with Sudish scoring a rebound after RF Young Champs keeper Jackson Singh dropped Givson’s effort from close. Sudish soon became the provider, feeding Barreto, who took the keeper off his line, before Srikuttan came off the bench, to add shine to the scoreline, before Srikuttan came off the bench. The latter directed the ball into an empty net.
