Rishi Sunak’s Infosys connection becomes fodder for memes

Rishi Sunak has become the 57th Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the first Indian-origin person to hold the post. The historic event in British politics has given rise to a meme fest on the internet that mentions everything from the Kohinoor diamond to Mr Sunak’s resemblance to former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra and of course his connection to IT giant Infosys.

Rishi Sunak is the son-in-law of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy. Throwing light on this, many people have created many tickling memes on Twitter and we have curated a few selected memes for you.

One user quipped, “Infosys bought Britain not by law but by law.”

Another wrote, ‘Rishi Sunak and I leave long ago. I used to work in his father-in-law’s company.”

Sharing a picture of Buckingham Palace, this person wrote, ‘The new Infosys Headquarters is an architectural marvel.

“Indians are very good at making connections out of thin air. While talking to a friend of his who works at Infosys, during the conversation he said, “My brother-in-law became the PM of UK,” wrote a user.

Another joked, “Me and Rishi Sunak are very close to each other. I used to work in his father-in-law’s company Infosys.

Apart from the memes, Rishi Sunak is being congratulated for winning the race to lead the Conservative Party and taking over as the new UK PM. Narayan Murthy also congratulated his son-in-law and said, “Congratulations Rishi. We are proud of them and wish them success. We are confident that he will do his best for the people of the United Kingdom.”

Rishi Sunak is married to Akshata, daughter of Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy. They have two daughters named Krishna and Anushka Sunak.
