NOIDA: The narrow road leading to Elite Golf Greens in Sector 79 has forced its residents to commute for daily work. While people have been demanding that the 45-metre-wide road – which is often used by Delhi-bound vehicles and adjoining societies to reach the main Dadri Road – be widened, the Noida authority has claimed that the adjacent The land belongs to the farmers and they were still in the process of acquiring it. Officials said that the farmers were demanding compensation for land in lieu of money, which has led to a deadlock in the matter.
The road, which connects 7x sectors to Dadri, Bhangel, Barola, Noida Extension, Crossing Republic and Indirapuram, is also used by heavy vehicles going to Delhi, residents say. Meanwhile, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh said that he has asked the Noida Authority to investigate the matter. “We want this road issue to be resolved soon, however, farmers should also be satisfied with the decision,” he told TOI.
Prasoon Dwivedi, an officer on special duty in Noida’s land department, said the adjoining land is yet to be acquired. “Farmers want rehabilitation. We have had several rounds of talks with him. We will continue talks to resolve the issue.”
