Police have thwarted a robbery attempt in Maharashtra’s Thane city and arrested four people.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers of Crime Branch Unit V laid a trap and arrested the accused from a liquor bar on Wednesday and seized three country-made revolvers, eight rounds and a motorcycle from them, the official said.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were planning dacoity at the farmhouse in Thane city and Karjat.

A case has been registered against Premkumar alias Pappu Ramlakhan Singh (51), Datta Vishnu Patil (30), Surajkumar Sadanand Yadav (19) and Kundankumar Ramesh Singh (42) under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act, the official said. is.

They said Singh was convicted in a murder case in 2004 and was lodged in Kolhapur Central Jail and out on parole, while Patil had the crime under his name at Kalwa police station.
