Rohit Shetty confirms ‘Sooryavanshi’ to release on Diwali after meeting Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray – Times of India

With relaxation in COVID-19 norms, Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has recently announced that theaters and cinemas in the state will be allowed to open after October 22. The meeting in Mumbai regarding the decision was attended by the director-producer along with several leading theater representatives, exhibitors. Rohit Shetty in presence.

A few minutes ago, Rohit Shetty took to his social media handle to share his excitement over the news and added a gratitude note that read, “Thank you to our Honorable Chief Minister, Shri. Uddhav ThackerayTheaters will reopen in Maharashtra from 22 October. And finally!!! We can say, this Diwali… Police is coming…”

Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited cop drama was initially scheduled to release on March 24, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the makers had decided to release it around January and March 2021. With the arrival of the second wave, the film was rescheduled once again, and now we can finally say that the film will release this October. The film, which is part of the ‘Singham’ franchise, stars Akshay Kumar And Katrina Kaif in important roles.
