The bike was unveiled at EICMA 2021, 480 units of the anniversary edition 650 Twin Motorcycle made available globally. It comes equipped with a rich black-chrome color scheme and handcrafted brass tank badge that represents the 120-year journey of the brand. The entire package included an extended warranty for the Anniversary Edition motorcycles as well as an exclusive blacked-out Royal Enfield Genuine Motorcycle Accessories Kit as well as a 3-year OEM warranty for 4th and 5th years.
Apart from the black chrome finish, these special-edition motorcycles sport a completely blacked-out engine cover and exhaust canister. In addition to this, Royal Enfield has also offered the 120th anniversary model with fly screen, engine guard, heel guard and bar and mirrors as optional accessories.
The sales window of these bikes in India opened on 6th December 2022 at 7 PM, and all 120 bikes allotted for India were sold out in just 120 seconds or two minutes.
To give you a quick recap, out of 60 units of Continental GT 650 sold in India, we were lucky enough to get the 25th bike of the Continental GT 650 Collector’s Edition.
Limited Edition Continental GT The hand painted gold pinstripe gets a ‘Trivalent Graphite Chrome’ paint job, which looks amazing. In between these pinstripes is a special 120 year old insignia with the unique serial number of the bike. On the side panels too, the 120-year-old variant gets gold-coloured stickers with the name of the bike at the bottom of the bike. We like the color combination used in the Collector’s Edition of the Continental GT.
The bike is complemented by handmade brass 3D badges made in collaboration with the ‘Sirpi Senthil’ family that look antique. The bike also gets a tan seat and a tan handlebar grip but these look a bit out of place on an otherwise luxurious looking motorcycle.
Royal Enfield has provided the opposite effect by blacked-out internals and mechanical components like the engine, exhaust, front and rear suspension and handlebars with matte treatment, while the black spoke wheels get arc-shaped gold rim stickers.
Continental GT 650 Collector’s Edition And the Interceptor 650 is based on their respective standard models, which means no mechanical changes. The bike is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch as standard. Suspension duties are handled by conventional front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.
