On August 30, around seven masked robbers armed with swords and knives had threatened priest Jackie Jagiasi and his family at their residence and stole valuables. 43 lakh rupees, They had injured 14-year-old Chirag during the robbery and one of them pointed a sword to Jagiyasi’s eight-year-old daughter Diya and told the family to keep quiet while the others were busy stealing valuables.
After the incident, taking the matter seriously, Thane Police had formed eight different teams, which included welfare Zone, Ulhasnagar Zone, Anti Extortion Cell and local Vithalwadi Police.
To solve the case, the teams checked over 100 CCTVs in Ulhasnagar, Dombivli, Kalyan and Navi Mumbai to reach out to the robbers and finally the team of Kalyan Crime Branch unit led by Kishor Shirshash nabbed Khan from Mumbra. .
“Khan is the main accused who along with the other accused had hatched the entire robbery. There are several cases registered against Khan in the past and he was released on bail in 2021 after serving eight years in jail,” said Shirshat.
Police have arrested three others after arresting Khan and are expected to nab the remaining accused in the case.
