RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat meets Dalai Lama in Dharamsala

Dharamsala: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat met Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama here on Monday. The meeting held at the Dalai Lama’s residence in McLeodganj lasted for an hour.

The Dalai Lama has started meeting the public from 15 December. His interaction with the public was suspended in 2020 following the outbreak of the coronavirus. President of the Tibetan government-in-exile Penpa Tsering, his cabinet and the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile Sonam Temple also called on the RSS chief.

Asked about Bhagwat’s meeting with the Dalai Lama, Tsering said, “I was not in the meeting, but I am sure he would have spoken on issues of greater interest to humanity.”

Bhagwat was on a five-day visit to Kangra and Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh.
