Russia-Ukraine talks: Delegations from Russia and Ukraine held their first round of peace talks in Belarus on Monday. After the talks ended, reports emerged that both sides would return to the respective capitals for further consultations before the second round of talks.
According to reports, the next round of peace talks will take place in the coming days. The Russian delegation said that both sides have identified certain points from which they can gauge normalcy.
The next round of talks between the delegations from Russia and Ukraine will take place on the Polish-Belarusian border, Sputnik quoted Vladimir Medinsky, the head of the Russian delegation, as saying.
“The delegations are returning to their capitals for discussions and have discussed the possibility of meeting for a second round of talks soon,” AFP quoted Ukrainian negotiator Mikhailo Podolik as saying.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed an application for his country to join the European Union (EU).
