Congress leader Sachin Pilot met party president Sonia Gandhi on Friday amid speculations of a cabinet reshuffle and organizational reshuffle in Rajasthan. Their meeting comes a day after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met Gandhi here and the two leaders are understood to have discussed the political situation in the state as well as the imminent cabinet reshuffle.

Talking to reporters after meeting Gandhi, Pilot said, “Whatever the Congress party wants me to do, I am more than happy. In the last 20 years, whatever work has been assigned, I have done it diligently.” And whatever it is now. The party decides what my role is… I am happy to do it.”

The former deputy chief minister said, “I am glad that Mrs. Gandhi took a response from all of us. I think at the right time, AICC general secretary Mr. (Ajay) Maken will take an appropriate decision, like in Rajasthan.”

According to sources, a major reshuffle is going to happen in Rajasthan in the next few days and various modalities are being worked out by adopting the formula of ‘one man, one post’ while considering the appointments in the cabinet.

Pilot has been demanding for a long time that the cabinet should be expanded and appointments to the boards and corporations in the state should be done soon. He has been insisting that Congress workers and leaders who worked closely with him for the party should be given their dues.

Pilot and the MLAs who supported him had revolted against Gehlot last year over his style of functioning, following which Pilot was removed from the posts of state party chief and deputy chief minister of Rajasthan.
