Players say head coach Austin Stubbs punished them by pushing them to the brink. “From exhaustion – everyone except one of the coaches thought a player stole $100 from him,” said Amanda Boyer, the parent of the saddle soccer player. For about an hour, he kept the boys running straight. “My son said he ran up and down the football field 20 times. He also asked injured players to carry 20-pound bags on their heads. Players began sending desperate messages to parents to pick them up. That’s when Polk County representatives showed up. Sadell’s superintendent Todd Martin sent a statement to the KCCI that read: “At this time the head coach has been placed on administrative leave and we cannot comment on this. Ongoing personnel matter. But Boyer says other coaches allow this to happen. “As far as I know there were three coaches, but it was head coach Coach Stubbs who was doing it,” Boyer said. Boyer says the school didn’t inform the parents that the deputy had to come to practice. He believes that simply putting head coach Austin Stubbs on administrative leave is not enough. “You don’t expect your kids to be sent to their school. Practice and they come home crying.”

That’s when Polk County representatives showed up.
Sadell’s superintendent Todd Martin sent a statement to the KCCI that read: “At this time the head coach has been placed on administrative leave and we cannot comment on ongoing personnel matters.”
But Boyer says other coaches allow this to happen.
“As far as I know there were three coaches, but it was head coach Coach Stubbs who was doing it,” Boyer said.
Boyer says the school had not informed parents that the deputies had to come to the practice.
He believes that simply putting head coach Austin Stubbs on administrative leave is not enough.
“You don’t expect your kids to be sent to school for their practice and they come home crying,” Boyer said.
When the delegates came for the exercise, no arrests were made.
No word on any other coaches facing the discipline at this time.
