Sagarmala VPA completes 7 years

A series of events are being organized by Sagarmala VPA (Visakhapatnam Port Authority) to mark its seventh anniversary.

The institutional framework for implementing the Sagarmala program was designed to create a coordinating role for the central government and to provide a platform for the central and state governments and local authorities to work together to achieve the objectives of the programme. .

As part of the event, teams from Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board and Invest India visited the VPA on Wednesday.

The port officials briefed the teams about the infrastructure facilities available, such as cargo handling facilities, modernization and mechanization, solar power and covered storage facilities.

Children from Visakha Valley School, St. Aloysius and Port High School were taken to the port’s operational areas and explained about the port’s facilities and its operations. A painting competition was also organized for the students.
