The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has banned journalist Boria Majumdar for two years after an internal investigation found him guilty of “threatening and attempting to intimidate” wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha.

The BCCI’s Apex Council during its meeting last week considered the report of the three-member committee and decided to ban Mazumdar from engaging in any cricket or interviewing cricketers for two years.

“The BCCI Committee has considered the submissions of both Mr. Saha and Mr. Majumdar and concluded that the action taken by Mr. Majumdar was indeed in the nature of intimidation and intimidation. The BCCI Committee recommended the following sanctions to the BCCI Apex Council,” BCCI Interim Chief Executive Hemang Amin wrote in an email to the members.

“1. Ban for two years on any accreditation as a member of the press in any cricket match (domestic and international) in India.
