Sameer Wankhede’s father files defamation case against Nawab Malik
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede’s father Dhyandev Kachruji Wankhede has filed a defamation case against Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik. The NCB officer’s father has moved the Bombay High Court alleging that the NCP leader’s recent statements have brought disrepute to his family.
According to the information, Wankhede’s father has demanded a compensation of Rs 1.25 crore in the case. The hearing of the case will take place on Monday.
The NCB had arrested Aryan Khan and at least 19 others on the intervening night of October 2-3 for drugs in the cruise case and Wankhede is facing a departmental vigilance inquiry after an independent witness, the people involved in the case. Wankhede had denied any wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, the NCB on Friday said that a total of six cases, including drugs, in the cruise case from the NCB Mumbai zonal unit will now be taken up by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising officers from the operations wing of the NCB headquarters in New Delhi. .
“No officer or officers have been removed from their present roles and they will continue to assist the Operations Branch in investigations until a specific order to the contrary is issued. It is reiterated that NCBs are located throughout India. Acts as an integrated agency.” Said it.
Wankhede denied that he was “removed” from the investigation in the Aryan Khan case and said the agency’s move is about coordination between the NCB teams in Mumbai and Delhi.
Malik, however, said that the removal of the NCB officer from the case is “just the beginning”.
