Samsung may be working on Watch 5 Pro to come with a bigger battery – Times of India

The battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series has not proved satisfactory for many users. According to SamMobile, the battery life of these devices has deteriorated due to the switch from its in-house Tizen platform to Google’s Wear OS. However, the Korean tech giant is now looking to fix this problem with the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

Apart from this, Samsung is also planning to change its tradition of launching two models of the flagship Galaxy smartwatch this time in different sizes. Reports suggest that the company may develop a third variant of the Galaxy Watch 5, which could be called the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

The report also claims that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which has model number SM-R925, is expected to house a 572mAh battery. The company recently confirmed that the other two models in the lineup – Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Classic – will also get a battery upgrade to run Watch OS 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro’s 572mAh battery will reportedly boost the Galaxy Watch 4’s battery capacity by up to 60 percent. The current latest Galaxy Watch series packs a 361mAh battery on the larger size variant. It will be a huge upgrade for battery capacity but it will be interesting to see how Samsung fits the new battery without making a bigger new watch than the current 44 and 46mm models.

However, it’s important to note that Samsung hasn’t made any official announcements about the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and reports suggest that the model isn’t “100 percent confirmed” yet.
