Hyderabad: A software engineer with a multinational company ended his life due to alleged marital problems Sanathnagar on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old SK Jameel, a resident of Allapur in Sanathnagar. Jameel married Nujeevdu’s Sohela Khan on 26 October 2020. According to the police, there was a rift between Jameel and Sohela after the marriage.
A year after their marriage, October 2021, based on Sohela’s complaint, sections 498-A (subjecting married woman to cruelty), 420 (cheating) and 307 (attempt to murder) were filed against Jameel and her parents. A case was registered under IPC at Nujeevedu Police Station. Sanathnagar inspector Muthu Yadav said, “Jameel and his parents were arrested in that case.”
The matter is still under investigation and according to the police, Jameel was upset with the differences with Sohela’s family and the police case.
After lunch on Saturday, Jameel went to sleep in his room on the ground floor of his two-storey house. When he did not come out for dinner, the family members knocked on the door. When there was no response from Jameel, he looked inside through the window and found him hanging from the fan.
“He was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital. In the suicide note, Jameel said that he decided to end his life due to harassment by his wife and his family members. Based on his father’s complaint, we have registered a case of abetment to suicide against his wife and her family members.
