Maharashtra Political Crisis: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday backed out of ‘conceiving defeat’ amid the ongoing crisis within the party that threatened the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government in Maharashtra. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut exuded confidence that disgruntled Eknath Shinde and other rebel MLAs would return, but admitted that the party was in a big trouble.

Describing Eknath Shinde as a friend and an old member of the party, Raut said, “We have worked together for decades. Neither it is easy for them nor for us to leave each other. I spoke to him for an hour this morning and the party chief was informed about it.”

Raut said, “Talks are on with the MLAs living with Eknath Shinde, everyone will be in Shiv Sena. Our party is a fighter, we will fight continuously, at least we may lose power but we will continue to fight.” “

When asked about Shinde’s demand, he said, “No demand has been made by Eknath Shinde, he has not put any condition.”

“What will happen at most? Power will go and power will come again, but prestige matters.” (What will happen at most, power will go… power will come again but prestige is definitely there),” They said.

The political crisis in Maharashtra started after senior Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde disagreed with Uddhav Thackeray over alliance with the NCP and Congress. According to Shinde’s claim, he has the support of about 40 MLAs.
