Kanpur: Special Judge of POCSO Act Rajveer Singh on Tuesday dismissed the criminal appeal of the accused. Saurabh Singh, a resident of Duda Colony, Panki, confirmed the order. Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) is against them.

According to ADGC Sushil Kumar Verma, on the evening of May 27, 2020, at around 4.15 pm, the police station, Panki police station and other policemen caught the accused. Mohan Verma And Saurabh Singh reached the spot to recover the weapon used in the murder.
The accused took the police team to the spot near Panki Nahar, Mirzapur Khanpur Colony, from where they picked up a blood-stained brick from a bush used in the murder and handed it over to Sub-Inspector Dhan Singh.
Meanwhile, Mohan Verma snatched the pistol from the pistol of SI Dhan Singh and loaded it. Pointing the gun towards the police team, he said that the way he had killed the police officer, he would kill them all. Later he opened fire on SI Amit Kumar Tiwari who fortunately escaped. The police also opened fire and injured Mohan Verma.
Saurabh took the gun from Mohan Verma’s hand and opened fire on the police party. His leg was also injured in the firing by the police in self-defence. Both were arrested and a case was registered against them in the Juvenile Justice Board under Section 7/27 of the Arms Act.
The board had sought a report about him from the probation officer.
The ADGC said that the probation officer in its report has stated that if the accused are released on bail, they may enter the world of crime again, and there was every possibility that they would threaten the witnesses, therefore They should not be released on bail.
The court, in its order, observed that since the Juvenile Justice Board had passed a legally correct order on the basis of the incident, the act of the accused and the report of the probation officer, there was no need to modify its order.
The court confirmed the order of the board and dismissed the criminal appeal of accused Saurabh Singh.
