SBI General Insurance collaborates with Google Pay to offer health insurance

MUMBAI: SBI General, one of India’s leading general insurance companies, today announced its technical collaboration with Google Pay, which will enable users to buy SBI General’s health insurance in a quick and hassle-free manner on the Google Pay app. This is in line with SBI General’s vision of continuously expanding its distribution of general insurance solutions through digital channels.

This collaboration is also Google Pay’s first such tie-up with an insurer in the country and will provide customers with health insurance on the Google Pay spot.

Commenting on the association, Prakash Chandra Kandpal, MD & CEO, SBI General Insurance said, “Today’s customers are well informed and evolved about their needs. The pandemic has fueled the use of digital platforms for various needs and also matured on their expectations from financial solutions. With this collaboration, Aarogya Sanjeevani, a standard health insurance plan will be offered at an affordable premium by SBI General on the Google Pay platform.”

Google Pay users will be able to:

  • Buy SBI General Health Insurance on Google Pay Spot – Arogya Sanjeevani
  • Aarogya Sanjeevani is a standard health insurance policy that was launched to provide standard coverage at an affordable premium and will help in improving the reach of health insurance in the country.
  • Under the Arogya Sanjeevani policy, users will be able to buy both individual and family plans through Google Pay Spot.
