* SC appointed former Punjab and Haryana HC judge, Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain, to oversee the investigation into the Lakhimpur Kheri case.
* The SIT probing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in the Supreme Court also includes three UP cadre IPS officers, who are not natives of the state.
* Lakhimpur will hear the matter again after the SIT completes the investigation and files a status report in this regard. PTI
