A horrifying video has surfaced on the internet showing a tree “breathing”. The eerie footage of the “heaving” tree has left many social media users scratching their heads looking for a possible reason behind the bizarre phenomenon.
The short clip was shared by Viral Hog. The incident took place in Calgary, Canada in June. “Calgary was experiencing heavy rainfall (100 mm expected) and strong winds (gusts of 70-90 km/h),” the caption of the post read.

Also, according to ViralHog, the man assisting the dangerous trees recorded the video. “After taking it down in the area that had fallen and was hanging in other trees, we heard a loud “crack” and saw this tree,” the person said. He further told that the tree looked as if it was breathing due to the wind blowing.

The video has created an uproar on the internet since it was shared. On YouTube, the clip has garnered over five million views and nearly 44,000 likes.
One user wrote, “Looks like it’s in Stranger Things, it’s kinda scary.” Another explained, “There’s a crack in the tree and it’s wind so when the tree bends because of the wind the crack widens.”
A third said, “Stranger things are right there,” while a fourth said, “A tree from hell!!!!!”
Meanwhile, earlier this year, another social media post showing water coming out of a mulberry tree stunned the internet. In the clip, water can be seen seeping from the truck of a mulberry tree without leaves.

A BBC report later stated that the incident was a once-a-year event that lasted only a few days. This is caused by underground springs that overflow during heavy rains, creating a high pressure that causes water to leak out of the tree trunk.
