School students’ startup secures seed funding

IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday announced that a student-led startup has secured seed funding.

N.Manasa Reddy and Nafisa Anjum, both students of Pallavi Model School, received seed funding for their startup DigiGyan. “Digi Gyan is a platform for digitally sharing knowledge for girl students in Tier 2/3 cities and villages,” tweeted the minister’s official handle.

Mr. Rama Rao had pledged to fund the startup on V-Hub’s fifth anniversary. “After his impressive pitch on Digi Gyan, KTR inquired about the financial viability, road map and ROI from the girls. He then provided seed capital of Rs 8 lakh,” the handle tweeted.

The idea of ’Digi Gyan’ stems from a problem statement identified by @WEHubHyderabad during the STE(A)M and Girls in Early Entrepreneurship program, which focuses on enabling more young girls to take their innovative ideas into viable entrepreneurial startup ventures .
