The new species of crab has been named ‘Lamarckdromia Beagle’.
Scientists have discovered a creepy new type of crab that dissociates itself from the hairs of other sea creatures. Experts say that the crab uses hair to protect itself from other predators.

a report in USA News Today Said to be the name of the type of crab Lamardromia Beagle After Charles Darwin’s ship. it belongs to dromidy family, commonly known as sponge crabs.
It was discovered by a family off the coast of Western Australia and they sent it to a local museum for identification, according to a report Guardian,
“The sponge or ascidian just keeps on growing and will mold into the shape of a crab’s back,” said Dr Andrew Hosey, curator of Crustacea and Insects at the Western Australian Museum. Guardian, “It will never attach… it makes a nice hat that fits snugly over the top of the crab.”
Sponges can be even larger than crabs, and may also provide a chemical deterrent. “Some of the compounds that these sponges are producing are very harmful,” Dr. Hosey said. “There aren’t a lot of active hunters that are interested in munching through sponges just to get to a crab.”
