Scuffle with Noida woman, abusing guard for delay in opening gate, arrested

A woman has been arrested after an altercation with the security guard of her residential society in Gautam Budh Nagar near Delhi. A video from the spot, which was widely circulated on social media, shows Bhavya Rai abusing, making vulgar gestures and threatening and thrashing a security guard. A later video showed him walking to the police station in his car while sitting inside the police.

Police sources indicated that they wanted to seize the car but he insisted on driving. The rules say that he should have been taken in a police car.

He was later produced in the court and kept in judicial custody for 14 days.

The woman was trying to exit the JP Wishtown Society in Sector 126, Noida yesterday when there was a delay in opening the gate. Karan Chaudhary, a security guard, told reporters, “It took some time to open the gate and the madam was waiting. There was nothing else. So she started shouting and abusing.”

One of the residents, Anshi Gupta, said the rule is that the guards note down the license plate numbers when cars enter or exit. “There was a delay of a few minutes and so she got out of the car. You know the rest,” she said.

Police sources said the woman was apparently drunk. For this it is yet to be tested.

A senior police officer Bharti Singh said, “A woman named Bhavya Rai was caught in the video misbehaving, misbehaving with a security guard of the society.”

“Police have registered a case based on the complaint of the security guard. His vehicle has been brought to the police station and he has been arrested,” he said.

A case has been registered and the woman has been charged under sections 153A (acts prejudicial to good faith), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of public peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. has been applied. Others, police said.
