SEBI releases list of 25 untraceable defaulters

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has come out with a list of 25 defaulters, which have not been traced.

These defaulters failed to refund investors’ money or failed to pay the penalty imposed on them by the regulator for various offenses related to securities market.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said that these notices were given during July 2014 to January 2022. The regulator has asked these defaulters to approach the recovery officer of SEBI by sending a letter or an e-mail by March 24, 2022.

“Furthermore, if any person is aware of the whereabouts of the defaulter(s) … the details thereof may be provided by sending a letter to the Recovery Officer … or an e-mail … by 24 March, 2022,” it added.

Sebi said the recovery officer of the regulator had prepared recovery certificates against these persons and on Wednesday published the details of the missing defaulters on its website.

SEBI said that these notices could not be given to the defaulters at their last known addresses.

Kanaiyalal Joshi, Santosh Krishna Pawar, Chetan Mehta, Mukund Yadu Jambhale, Ankit K Agarwal, Jayesh Shah, Sureshkumar P Jain, Praveen Vashisht, Rajesh Tukaram Dambre, Jayesh Kumar Shah, Dahyabhai G Patel, Dalsukhbhai D Patel, Vithalbhai V Gajera. defaulter

Apart from this, there are Vinod D Patel, Praveen P Patel, Naveen Kumar Patel, Sunil Kuril, Dilip Hemant Jambhale, Jagdish Jaichandbhai Pandya, Chirag Dineshkumar Shah, Prashant Khankari, Kailash Shriram Agarwal, Dattu Shitole, Jintendra Chandrabhan Singh and Ankit Sancharia.

SEBI has powers to pass orders for refund of money to investors, withdrawal of funds to be distributed to investors, and recover money from various entities by way of collecting fees and penalties levied by it.

Since acquiring recovery powers in 2013, SEBI has initiated recovery proceedings against a large number of defaulters.
