Nagpur: Dalit widow accused of casteism and sexual harrasment Her workplace in the Commercial Department of the South East Central Railway (SECR) has now sent a video to top police officials of the hospital where she is admitted, demanding justice.
The senior SECR employee, who has been working in the Railways for 36 years, narrated her plight in the 1.36-minute clip. He has also described his “mental and physical harassment” and “molestation”. He also named two officials of the commercial department of SECR as his alleged harassers.
The Dalit widow, who had earlier met CP Amitesh Kumar, gave a statement in front of assistant CP Trupti Jadhav, following which the police also summoned the officials concerned but an offense has not been registered yet.
The woman has now sent a video message to Kumar, zonal DCP Vinita S and others, stating that if anything happens to her, the concerned officers of her department will be responsible. The woman was admitted to a private hospital soon after the complaint was lodged.
She has claimed in the video from her hospital bed that two senior SECR officials made relentless casteist remarks and harassed her, and were responsible for her severe depression.
SECR chief PRO Saket Ranjan said that his department is giving full cooperation to the investigating agency.
Sources in Sadar police station said that the matter is being investigated at the senior level and the police station will take action accordingly.
