In view of the stone pelting at many places Maharashtra Following the recent protests on Friday against the violence that took place in Tripura in late October, the Pune district administration on Sunday imposed Section 144 of CrPC.

The notification, issued by Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, prohibits people from circulating messages and posts on social media platforms that may create communal rift between groups, as well as holding meetings etc., an official was quoted as saying. Was PTI,

“It shall be in force from the midnight of November 14 till November 20. As per the order, spreading of messages etc. through social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp, which may create communal rift in the society, is prohibited. Five or Assembly or gathering of more people, hoardings and posters are prohibited which can create communal tension,” the official said.

He said violators would be prosecuted under section 188 of the IPC.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday asked “Why is there violence in Maharashtra over the Tripura incidents?”

Referring to the Tripura violence incident, the Shiv Sena leader said, “The question arises that if there is violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, then its reaction is in Tripura and on that reaction, there are riots in some parts of Maharashtra, When there is no reaction on Kashmiri Pandits. Were killed in Kashmir, when a colonel along with his family was killed in a terrorist attack in Manipur. Hindus are everywhere, why are the reactions (riots) only in Maharashtra? Is it Tripura? Am I part of some conspiracy which is affecting the entire country?”

Raut further said, “If Tripura’s case is true and serious, then why its reactions are happening in Maharashtra, why not in other states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana etc.”

Talking to the media, the Shiv Sena leader said, ‘If Hindus are really in danger in this country, then I would say that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat sahib take out a front in Delhi, we will all join it and you will get PM Modi and Amit. Shah should be asked questions.

Incidents of stone-pelting were reported from Nanded, Malegaon and Amravati on Friday in the backdrop of protests against the violence that took place in Tripura’s Panisagar on October 27.

Condemning the violence at Nanded, Malegaon, Amravati and other places in protest against the violence in Tripura, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has assured that the violence during the protests will be investigated.
