Muslims around the world are observing the holy month of Ramadan. To honor the month, Muslims perform a special Taraweeh ritual. Meanwhile, a video of a cat jumping over an Imam in Algeria has gone viral on social media. The wholesome clip is winning all hearts on the internet.
The video that is now going viral was shared by the official page of Sheikh Walid Mehsas on Facebook. In the two-minute-long video, the imam was seen leading nightly prayers during the holy month of Ramadan at a crowded mosque in Bourdj Bou Areridj, Algeria. A minute later, a cat jumps on the Imam but he is unfazed by it. He pet the cat and eventually she climbs on his shoulder and even tries to kiss his face. The Imam remains calm and continues to recite with his eyes closed. Later in the video, the cat gets off his shoulder and walks around the campus.
Since being shared on social media, the adorable video has garnered over 46,000 likes and 10,000 shares. He captioned the post, “Glory be to God. Even animals fear the words of God. See a cat climbing on top of an Imam. And he is reciting Quran in Taraweeh prayer.”
