Speaking to reporters after meeting her husband and other convicts along with her lawyer at the camp, Ms Nalini said she and her husband wanted to move to London, where their daughter lives. “I haven’t seen my daughter for 16 years and now I want to be with her,” she said.

Ms. Nalini claimed that Santhan wanted to return to Sri Lanka, while Robert Payas and Jayakumar had not yet decided where they wanted to migrate. She said that she had appealed to the Tiruchi collector to take steps to send her husband to London at the earliest as per his wish.

He said that the four convicts should not be kept in the camp as they have already spent 30 years in jail.
