Senior Citizen Special FD Scheme: State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are offering higher interest rates on fixed deposits to senior citizens. These special FD schemes were introduced by various banks amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
SBI WeCare Deposit for Senior Citizens
“A special “SBI WeCare” deposit has been introduced for Senior Citizens in the Retail TD segment, with an additional premium of 30 bps (over the existing 50 bps) for Senior Citizens for ‘5 years and above’ on their Retail TDs Will be given. Period only. “SBI WeCare” deposit scheme has been extended till 30th September 2022,” SBI mentioned on its website.
SBI Special FD Scheme Interest Rate for Senior Citizens
If a senior citizen makes a fixed deposit under the special FD scheme, then the interest rate applicable on the FD will be 6.30 percent. State Bank Of India Interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) have been increased with effect from February 15, 2022.
HDFC Bank Special FD Scheme
An additional premium of 0.25% (over and above the existing premium of 0.50%) will be given to senior citizens who wish to book fixed deposits of less than ₹ 5 crore for a period of 5 (five) years a day to 10 years, May 18. During the special deposit offer starting from 20 to 30 September’2022. This special offer will be applicable for renewal as well as fresh fixed deposits booked by senior citizens during the above period.
HDFC Bank’s special FD scheme interest rate for senior citizens
If a senior citizen holds under fixed deposit HDFC bank Senior Citizen Care FD, then the interest rate applicable on the FD will be 6.35%. These interest rates are effective from 20 April 2022
ICICI Bank Golden Year FD
Resident Senior Citizen customers will get an additional interest rate of 0.20% for a limited time in addition to the existing 0.50% p.a. additional rate. The additional rate will be available on newly opened deposits as well as deposits renewed during the plan period. These rates are applicable from 7 October 2022
