Sensex, Nifty fall for 6 days, fall in volatile business

Sensex and Nifty closed strongly today.

Indian equity benchmarks managed to end in the green on Monday in highly volatile trade, barring a sharp six-day decline. Domestic indices on Friday recorded their longest weekly decline since 2020.

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 180 points or 0.34 per cent higher at 52,974, while the broader NSE Nifty ended 60 points or 0.38 per cent higher at 15,842. The Sensex closed with a gain of 796 points in today’s trading session.

Mid- and small-cap stocks ended on a strong note as Nifty Midcap 100 rose 1.25 per cent and small-cap by 1.12 per cent.
