“Sensible and Sustainable”: This Homemade Meal Is What You Need for a Post-Festival Detox

Indian food is a boon when you want to take your taste buds on a ride and still indulge in everything. The spices used in Indian households – including turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, etc. – are packed with nutrients. Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar posted a picture of a simple Indian plate on Instagram and explained its importance. On the plate we could see some boiled rice and a bowl of delicious yellow lentils. There was also a dry potato curry and some chutney. The limited portions of each of these dishes reminded us of the importance of eating mindfully.

Rujuta shared the picture on Instagram Stories and also uploaded it as a post.

On Instagram Stories, he wrote, “What you see is not everything. Everyone is welcome to help the second, even the third, be my guest. But know that a little bit of dal and chawal at a time.” The best way is to savor the hot-hot.He asked his followers not to miss the true essence of Indian cooking, by those who were eating and living.

As for the post on Instagram, Rujuta called it the perfect kind of detox one needed after the festivities. In its caption, he wrote, ‘This is what normal food looks like. This is what you should return to eating after the festivities. Wise and sustainable is the only detox you need.”
