Greater Noida: Two women have been arrested for running a prostitution racket from a house in the city. Greater Noida, A third person, who was believed to be a customer, has also been arrested, police said on Thursday.
According to ACP-2 (Greater Noida) Mahendra Singh Deo, the police had received a tip-off that prostitution was going on from a house in Ansal Golf Links area, after which a team of Beta 2 police raided the house. “Shoaib, a resident of Ecotech-1 area, who allegedly came in contact with two women through a website, was among the three arrested,” Dev said.
Two mobile phones, a tablet, six thousand rupees in cash and other items have been recovered from them. “It seems that women provided escort services after contacting customers online. Both were active for the last 6-7 months,” the ACP said, adding that a case was registered against the accused under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Last month, the Noida Police and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit busted an online sex racket and arrested two people. The police have also recovered cash worth thousands of rupees.
