Shakuntalam screening: This Samantha Ruth Prabhu-starrer opens to mixed response

Looks like Samantha Ruth Prabhu has her fingers crossed as she gears up for the release of her upcoming film Shakuntalam. Fans are also waiting with bated breath to watch this epic romance drama unfold before their eyes on the big screen. Ahead of the film’s release on 14 April, Shakuntalam producer Dil Raju took a bold step by arranging a special screening of the Gunasekhar-directed film in Hyderabad on 10 April. Among the select few fans who were lucky enough to see the film.

As per reports, the audience who watched the special screening of Shakuntalam had mostly positive things to say about the Samantha-starrer. Moviegoers appreciated Samantha’s power-packed performance in the film, which kept her hooked from beginning to end. Some were also impressed by the on-screen chemistry between Samantha and her co-star Dev Mohan, who plays King Dushyant in the film.

Cine lovers have claimed that Shakuntalam in the film can be seen suffering from the pain of being separated from Dushyant while she was pregnant, the highlight of the film. According to the reviews of the general public, the difficulties of Shakuntalam have struck a chord with the masses quite easily. Film enthusiasts also praised the impeccable 3D visual effects and amazing graphics in the film.

Shakuntalam also marked the debut of Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha as a child artist. Sources claim that the audience was thrilled to see little Arha on-screen for the first time. He was impressed by her impeccable demeanor in front of the camera. So far, Shakuntalam has received mixed reviews with many stating that the second part of the film is better than the first part.

As per a report in OTT Play, Dil Raju cited the reason for his decision to release Shakuntalam ahead of its official premiere date. He revealed that he wants to follow the footsteps of Hollywood films. “Once a Hollywood studio completes production of a film, they will not worry about financial matters. They have special screenings before its full release. Hollywood films are shown in India even before they are released in the US. I am trying to implement that pattern,” shared Dil Raju.

Shakuntalam also stars Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, Kabir Bedi, Jisshu Sengupta and Madhu in pivotal roles.
