West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday announced that former Union minister Shatrughan Sinha will contest the Lok Sabha bypoll from Asansol. While Babul Supriyo will contest the assembly by-election from Ballygunge on TMC ticket.
“Shri Babul Supriyo, former Union Minister and renowned singer, will be our candidate for the Assembly by-election from Ballygunge,” Banerjee wrote in a tweet.
The Trinamool Congress Supreme said, “Former Union Minister and famous actor Shatrughan Sinha will be our candidate in the Lok Sabha bypoll from Asansol.”
