Fellow TV actor and ex-boyfriend of Tunisha Sharma, Sheezan Khan, was pressurizing her to convert, the deceased actor’s mother claimed on Friday.
Tunisha’s mother further said that she had visited the sets a day before her daughter’s alleged suicide and had spoken to Sheezan about his alleged affairs, adding that he and his family took advantage of her daughter.
“I will not keep quiet till Sheejan is punished. Tunisha once checked her phone and found that he was cheating on her. On questioning Sheejan she slapped him. I was not. I will not spare Sheejan. My daughter is gone, I am alone now,” claimed Tunisha’s mother.
When confronted, the mother claimed that Sheezan said “he can’t do anything, you do what you want to do”.
The mother further claimed, “Sheezaan took her from the room but did not call an ambulance. It could be a murder too…Sheezaan forced her to wear the hijab as well.”
Police have recorded statements of around two dozen people in connection with the death of the TV actress, who was found dead on Saturday on the sets of her ongoing TV show Alibaba – Dastan-e-Kabul.
A day later, Sheezan Khan was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.
The police told the court that on the day Tunisha died, the two had a 15-minute conversation in the make-up room, after which both flared up.
Police have also recovered around 250 pages of WhatsApp chats between Sheezan and Tunisha from his phone which will be further analysed.
Both of them had a breakup 15 days before Tunisha’s death.
