shocking! The woman cleans the dumpster to find a huge amount of food to feed her community; entertainment reddit

As we open the fridge door, we carefully navigate our hands to avoid that one orange that’s been in there a little too long; Those 2 slices of bread that look a little stale or that slightly twisted carrot you got last week. We seek out fresh ingredients and prepare meals for ourselves, and those foods you left out in the fridge? They rot, unless they need to be thrown away! Which we do in a guilt-free way. But multiply these wastages by 30 days a month and you may have thrown away enough food to feed a homeless family. A video recently surfaced on Reddit of a woman trying to tackle this problem of food wastage.

The video was posted on the reddit handle r/Damnthatsintresting, where it has garnered 8526 up votes and 904 comments and the number is increasing every minute. In the 3:30 second clip, the woman can be seen jumping into large dustbins and looking for food, finds the food at home, cleans it up and shares it with her community, who provide food. The days look happier than they are done. The amount of food this woman has in the trash is staggering, from several packets of cherries to dozens of ripe bananas and even a whole bunch of potatoes. Worried about cleanliness? The woman washes and separates good and bad food before cooking or storing it. What we can understand from the comment section is that these dumpers are probably kept near big corporations or malls, which have a habit of throwing away large quantities of food as they start getting a little spoiled. What’s even more heartbreaking is that this isn’t an entirely unusual practice. In fact, many people in the comments section, who were past employees or large corporations or food chains, agree that they dumped similar amounts of food in the trash.

Do you think the corporation can find a better way to dispose of these food items? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
