Shooting for Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Two’ begins

Hollywood studio Warner Bros. has announced that filmmaker Denis Villeneuve Dune: Part Two Filming has started. Based on the 1965 novel by author Frank Herbert, it is the sequel to the film Dunes: Part OneWhich was released in October 2021 to universal acclaim.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment shared the news in a statement posted on the official website and also released the sequel’s plotline.

This follow-up film will trace the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chaney and the Freemen, while on a war path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Along with Chalamet, her co-stars Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard and Dave Bautista are returning for the sequel.

They are joined by newcomers, including Austin Butler as the infamous Fed-Routha, veteran actor Christopher Walken as the clergyman Emperor Shaddam IV and Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan. Lee Sedoux and Souhela Yacoub exited the cast.

Dune: Part Two Expected to release on October 20, 2023. Jon Spahts is returning to co-write the screenplay with Villeneuve, who will direct and produce the sequel.
