Shot through a hole in the air from the middle of the plane, man injured in Myanmar

The aircraft was shot at an altitude of over 3,000 feet.

An aircraft passenger was recently injured when he was hit mid-air by a shot from the ground. The man was traveling on a Myanmar National Airlines plane that was about to land in Loikaw, Myanmar, when he was killed on Friday morning.

A photo shared on Instagram by ‘cabin_crew_club’ shows the victim sitting in her seat, reclined and holding a tissue on the right side of her neck and cheek. Another photograph also showed a hole in the fuselage of the bullet-fired aircraft.

According to news agency myanmar nowOfficials said an ATR-72 aircraft carrying 63 passengers was shot down at an altitude of more than 3,000 feet. The person on board the plane suffered an injury to the right side of the face.

Authorities identified the man as a 27-year-old man who was traveling from Naipitaw to Loikav. He was taken to the hospital soon after landing.

Officials said the bullet entered the plane before it hit the passenger. The Myanmar Military Council accused two resistance forces – the Kareni National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the People’s Defense Force – of firing at the plane. However, the KNPP has reportedly stated that their organization was not involved in the alleged shooting, and avoids civilian targets.
