Shyam Metallics & Energy ropes in Salman Khan as brand ambassador

Shyam Metallics & Energy has signed Bollywood actor Salman Khan as the brand ambassador to endorse its SEL TMT Sariya. The addition of the mine to boost its TMT business is part of the company’s four-fold expansion plan in metals capacity, which includes intermediate and final products, it said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

The company said it is adding capacity at its manufacturing plants located at Sambalpur in Odisha and Jamuria and Mangalpur in West Bengal as well as at captive power plants. From 1.07 lakh tonnes of long steel products sold in FY 2016-17, it has increased to 6.37 lakh tonnes in FY21. After the brownfield expansion under implementation, the company plans to increase this capacity to 2 million tonnes of branded value added products.

“In addition, the company is in the process of commissioning an aluminum foil rolling mill at Pakuria, West Bengal. This expansion plan will help in generating more employment opportunities across the product value chain,” said Shyam Metaliks.

“This collaboration will strengthen our brand recall and position our unique offering for both our customers and end users. We believe that the key to our brand journey is to remain relevant to the emergent needs of the consumer at every point of the manufacturing journey,” said Sanjay Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, Shyam Metallics.

Salman Khan said, “I have gone through the company’s journey and am excited to be a part of SEL TMT’s brand building exercise, with their fast-paced expansion plans and future-ready capabilities.” A long and fruitful union.

Earlier today, Shyam Metallics & Energy stock ended the day trading 413.40, up 6.20 points or 1.52 percent.
