Singareni plans to produce at least 2.3L tonnes a day

As the current financial year is about to end soon, the management of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to ramp up production during the remaining 47 days from February 13 to keep at least 2.3 lakh tonnes of coal a day. Pace to meet the target of 70 million tonnes.

To achieve this amount of coal production, there is also a need to remove about 17 lakh cubic meters of overburden per day. Production of at least 2.3 lakh tonnes per day for the remaining 47 days of FY 2022-23 will increase coal production by 10.81 million tonnes to 54.1 million tonnes by the end of January, taking the production for the year to 64.91 million tonnes.

Coal production even in the targeted measurement will keep the company away from the target of about 5.1 million tonnes. Director N. Balram (Finance & Personnel), D. Satyanarayana Rao (Electrical & Mechanical), NVK Srinivas (Operations) and G. Venkateswara Reddy (Planning and Project) on Monday held a virtual meeting with Regional General Managers and directed them to draw up. There is a plan to ensure targeted production of coal in the remaining period of the current financial year.

The Directors told the Regional General Managers that by sticking to the plan of producing at least 2.3 lakh tonnes of coal a day, the company is set to surpass the previous best of 65.02 million tonnes achieved in the previous year (2021-22). can get the maximum production. He said conditions were not favorable for production of less than 2.3 lakh tonnes per day as contracts for removal of overburden were already in place.

He also suggested that the Area GM coal handling plants be maintained properly to ensure targeted dispatch of coal to the customers. Executive Director (Coal Movement) J. Alwyn suggested that the Regional General Managers pay attention to the quality of coal along with the production.

Earlier, General Manager (Coordination) M. Suresh gave the details of sector wise production and dispatch of coal in this financial year and the targets for the remaining 47 days. Advisor (Mining) DN Prasad and others also participated in the meeting virtually.
