KK, whose discography includes generational songs such as friendYaaron Dosti, Tadap Tadap and Aankhen Mein Teri, the audience clapped and clapped to his music on stage from 7 pm to 9 pm, after which he returned to his hotel at Esplanade in the heart of the city. Music director Jeet Ganguly, who worked with KK in several films and was the first to reach the hospital, said the singer showed no obvious signs of illness before his sudden death. “He was extremely fit, and always asked me to take care of him. I can’t believe this has happened.”
Several singers from Kolkata have expressed grief over the sudden demise of KK, who will be remembered for songs like ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’, ‘Yaaron’, ‘O Meri Jaan’.
KK, a versatile singer, was born on August 23, 1968, and recorded songs in languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali, among others.
