Six arrested, including a minor, who killed a woman for jewelery

Satyanarayanapuram police on July 9 arrested Satyanarayana’s wife K. Six people were arrested for allegedly killing Sita (50).

Giving this information to reporters here on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Babu Rao said that the main accused Gummadi Nageswara Rao masons had seen old jewelery of ancient value in Satyanarayana’s house.

He reportedly married his son, Gannavaram’s G. Vamshi Krishna, and activist Kota Srimannarayana of Ammireddigudemin NTR district, Galanki Satheesh, a native of Asavaropeta in Telangana, Bandala Satheesh of Guntur and a minor from Gannavaram mandal of Krishna district.

The accused had come to Satyanarayan’s house in broad daylight on the pretext of asking for the address of the house. Mr Babu Rao said they entered the house, allegedly tied his hands behind him and strangled him to death with a towel.

Later, they robbed the body and the gold jewelery kept in the house and fled. Additional DCP (Task Force) K Srinivasa Rao said the police recovered jewellery, a car, two bikes and a knife, which were used in the crime.
