Six hours in the counting of votes, here are the trends of 5 states

election results 2022: Six hours after counting of votes on March 10, trends show the BJP crossing the majority mark in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. BJP is leading in Goa and Manipur also.

Meanwhile, in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party Crossing the majority mark, it has taken lead in 91 out of 117 assembly seats.

Uttar Pradesh

The ruling BJP appeared on course to retain power in Uttar Pradesh, with election trends on Thursday giving the party-led alliance a lead of 272 seats, as against its nearest rival Samajwadi Party’s 123.

The state has 403 assembly seats and 202 seats are needed to form a majority government.

Till now trends are available for all 403 seats.

Punjab

As per the trends available from 117 constituencies, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is leading in 91 of the 117-assembly seats.

The Congress, which is trying to retain power in Punjab, has seen an internal crisis ahead of the elections. The party is currently leading in 17 seats, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and most of his council of ministers are trailing in their respective constituencies as per the 12 noon trends.

Goa

As the initial trends showed, AAP was leading in two seats in Goa. According to the trends available for all 40 seats in the coastal state, the ruling BJP was ahead of the Congress in Goa with saffron party candidates in 18 seats on Thursday.

Trinamool Congress, trying to make inroads in Goa, is leading in four seats. TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier said that her party could have done better in Goa if she had more time.

Uttarakhand

As per the latest trends, the ruling BJP is all set to come to power in Uttarakhand for the second time in a row, leading in 44 of the total 70 seats.

Congress is trailing on 24 seats.

However, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Congress’ Harish Rawat, who led the campaigns of their respective parties in these assembly elections, were trailing in their respective seats of both Khatima and Lalkuan.

In Khatima, Dhami is trailing behind Congress’ Bhuvan Chandra Kapri by 2,287 votes, while Harish Rawat is trailing BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht by 13,893 votes.

What happens in these two seats, it will be clear later in the afternoon.

Manipur

In Manipur, BJP is leading in 11 seats and Congress in 7 seats in the preliminary round of counting.

Counting of votes for 60 assembly seats in Manipur began at 8 am on Thursday amid tight security and strict adherence to coronavirus protocols.

As per the initial trends available from 26 constituencies, BJP is leading in 11 seats and Congress in seven seats.

The Janata Dal (United) was leading in three seats and the National People’s Party on two seats.

According to the official data of the Election Commission, the BJP was ahead in six seats, the Congress on one and the JD(U) on two seats.
