Six killed, five injured as vehicle falls into a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Pauri

A vehicle fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district, killing six and injuring five others.

Six people were killed and five others were injured when a pickup vehicle fell into a deep gorge near Chakisain in Pauri district on Monday evening.

Circle Officer (CO) Prem Lal Tamta said the occupants of the vehicle were returning from a wedding function when the accident took place near Seoli village.

He said that the injured were admitted to the primary health center in Pabau, from where two seriously injured were referred to another health center in Pauri.

The CO said that the deceased have been identified as Ankit Kumar, Hayat Singh, Meherban Singh, Dabde, Ambika and Kumari Monika.
