SL vs AUS: Daniel Vettori and Andre Borovec named assistant coaches of Australia men’s team

Andre Borovec and Daniel Vettori replace Jeff Vaughan and Andrew McDonald, who have been promoted as head coaches of the team. Vettori will remain at The Hundred as head coach of Birmingham Phoenix.

Former New Zealand all-rounder Daniel Vettori has been appointed assistant coach of the Australian men’s team along with Andre Borovec.

Both will make their debut in the Test leg of the tour of Sri Lanka in June-July. Australia A will also coach Australia A in Sri Lanka ahead of the Victorian Borovec Test series, along with Ben Sawyer and Sunny Kaliyar, assistant coaches of the Australian women’s team.

Borovec and Vettori fall for Jeff Vaughan, who has returned to Tasmania as head coach of the Tigers, and Andrew McDonald following his promotion to the role of head coach of the national team.

Additional appointments to the men’s team’s support staff include Nick Jones as physiotherapist and Mary Spillane as psychologist, which begins ahead of the Sri Lankan tour.
